DOB objection: Proving unit is not rent-controlled

We purchased a one bedroom in a Sunnyside co-op to gut renovate. Our remaining objection from the Queens DOB is proving our unit is not rent-controlled. Despite sending a letter from the property managing agent confirming our unit is a co-op, the DOB refuses to believe the unit isn't rent-controlled. Has anyone experienced this with the DOB?
