There has been no compensation or rent credit, besides a $19.99 hot plate and a $100 Amex gift card for the tremendous inconvenience. It takes 45 minutes to boil a pot of water. On top of that, the construction and fixtures in this building are incredibly flimsy. Elevators stop working, the heater/AC units break down constantly, bathroom doors don't lock, shower faucets fall off – every day it's something else. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else.
