Be wary of moving into a building where management tries to extract every possible dollar out of their tenants. They take advantage of you at renewal time by refusing to negotiate and preying on the discomfort and expense it costs to move. Even when provided specific comparable evidence of market rent they display no consideration of tenant caliber or paying on time and subject you to 10% year over year increases at well over market rent.
In spite of the beautiful unit renovations, there is an abundance of cockroaches throughout the building. The pictures of the "gym" are an exaggeration. It is a former storage room in the basement where large cockroaches come to die. The radiators are ancient and extremely loud at night.
The staff does not even say thank you when they receive holiday tips. Don't fool yourself into thinking this corner of 14th st and 7th ave is part of the West Village, it is just as commercial as Chelsea.
One last thing, this is an old building so the hallways are very narrow and the service elevator is inconveniently located. Don't plan on bringing a normal three seater couch unless your movers don't mind the walk up the stairs. Hope you like loveseats!
Take my hard-earned advice, do yourself a favor and pick another spot to call home.
