Did StreetEasy redesign ruin the site for you?

I noticed a design change that occurred maybe a year ago on the computer (not phone) version of the site. The main difference is the split-screen with listings on the left and a map on the right, instead of the way it was before with a list view by default, and a separate map-only view that you could click into. The search basically doesn’t work for me anymore after the design change and I’m wondering if anyone else feels the same way. Examples of issues… If I set a boundary, for example Manhattan only, but then zoom in on the map, the search turns into a new boundary using the map coordinates and I can’t get back to the original list of listings. If I click on a dot on the map to find out more, it automatically zooms in, messing up the boundary. If I change any parameters after the initial search, it stalls and takes a long time to refresh if at all. Most of the time it just seems to freeze, not refreshing the list or map view. I’m not a user interface expert. I can’t really explain or give examples of all of the issues. But before the change it was such a joy to use and it felt like such a powerful tool. I would peruse it for hours combing through every listing that matched more and more specific search parameters. Now I find it so frustrating and I just can’t even stand to use it for more than 5 minutes. Is it just me, or have they objectively trashed the functionality of the site? [less]
