Brick Underground has a "sponsored" gut renovation story where the buyers spend $558,000 renovating what seems like a one-bedroom. The story notes that the renovation cost was "$600 a square foot" (unless the apartment is truly 700-square feet, as referenced elsewhere in the article, which makes it a smidge under $800 a square foot.)
