I have lived at 630 W 246th Street for 9 months. By appearances alone, this looks like a lovely building providing a serene and peaceful lifestyle. It is with no exaggeration that I say for at least 8 of those months I have had to deal with banging, drilling and all aspects of noise related to demo and reno of apartments around and above me. Very little time when I can peacefully enjoy living in my apartment. I pay substantial rent for a 1 bedroom unit and feel ripped off. I will say the building is well maintained and the staff is hard working and very pleasant to deal with. But the good gets a bit lost when you are subjected to endless loud and jarring noise throughout each day for months on end. They refer to it as building maintenance, but that is a lie. All tenants benefit from building maintenance, however apt demo and reno only benefits the next renter of that unit. So the rest of us just have to deal with the assault on our peaceful enjoyment of our apartments. If I wasnt paying top dollar for this unit I might be more forgiving, but I am disgusted each month when that rent is deducted automatically from my bank account. [less]
