Discussion about The Centurian at 1182 Broadway in NoMad

I lived in a rental unit at The Centurian for five years. The building disappointed on a number of levels. A few reactions: 1: Promise of gym on second floor - never happened. There is a boutique class offering that is pay-per-class. 2: Restaurant on ground level that would provide room service to apartments: Maxwell's was open for 12 to 18 months and closed well over a year ago. No new tenant has taken over. 3: Quality of service: doorman rarely open doors. Handymen make an effort. 4: Rooftop: has been closed for 18 months for renovations. 5: Heating: building heat went out during a 72 hour spell in January. Temperature in the apartment was 60 or so degrees during this period. No communication during this period from management around what was happening. We had to argue with management for a 2 day reduction in that month's rent. 6. Fixtures: Kitchen configuration results in smoke billowing into the apartment and setting off smoke detector regularly.
