quick release security gates

We are being asked by our condo building insurance to have “quick release” fire escape window security gates installed otherwise our building’s insurance will be cancelled. Does anyone have any experience with this? I live on the ground floor in a condo and have been told by the Board/Building Mgt that I am personally responsible for the cost to fix this, even though the issue affects the insurance coverage for the whole building. Grateful for any insights about who must pay this, is it common, etc. Thanks
