Horrible management and mice

Just wanted to share my experience with this building and the management in it. After living here for 5 years, despite the presence of mice in the building (no less than four have been caught and killed in my apartment in the last three years), I sought to move out under my cancellation rider. However it was unfortunately in a month excluded by the rider. I spoke to the landlord, hoping they would be reasonable, given I was only asking to terminate a month earlier than my actual lease expiry. They not only refused, they would not even allow me to sublet it for that month to cover my costs. If you are renting in this building and have a rider, I highly recommend you push to remove the excluded months or better yet, find another place with better management. New York will be a renters market for at least the next year. [less]
