sign the lease in this building and after a year the exclusive listing agent will increase the rent 25% to force you to move, just to relist it at a lower fee so she can collect her large annual commission and keep a recurring listing for her agency status, even if you are a flawlessly perfect and A.I.R-legal tenant. She operates on the 94 year old owner's behalf, but purely for her own financial gain, not the financial well-being of the owner or the building. Elevator always broken. Heat barely works. Not worth the stress or unexpected moving expenses. Very unpleasant experience.
We found it listed on Craigslist, not listed on the exclusive broker's website.
Streeteasy noted it had been vacant for 15 months and she would not budge on the price (despite the craigslist ad stating "make an offer") and forced us to pay a hefty commission.
THIS IS AN ARTIST IN RESIDENCE ZONED APARTMENT. this is never advertised by the broker and you will lose your deposit if caught renting without the appropriate artist certificates. The broker gets to keep her commission either way.
