This apartment is advertised as a gut reno, and boy they are not kidding. It is basically all mint green and pink, I get the impression it was pretty much an artist flop house lost in the 80's.
There is no way this apartment has 1800 sqft of interior space. My best guess is 1400 at best....at best. The staircases are not for the all you can eat buffet'ers.You'd embarass any slightly overweight friends you had over if they tried to get upstairs. The private outdoor space is deceiving on the floorplan, You are directly beneath the water tower of the building. Steel beams and girders for the tank make your access quite the challenge.
A past sale in 2006 went for 1,410,000. The paper on the unit however is 1,540,000. No doubt to pay around half of the outstanding 310K in common charges not paid since the 80s. 168K is still owed.
Positives; On the 12th floor in that area, you have some great views. You also have a door that leads directly to the common roof.
Given the work needed, you'd have to be nuts to pay over a million for it.
