530 & 550 Grand street are two of three 12-story brick buildings that comprise the Hillman cooperative, situated around private courtyard parks and beautifully landscaped grounds. Each of the three buildings, built between 1948 and 1950, has 3 sections with separate lobbies and elevator banks. There are a total of approximately 800 apartments in the complex: studios, efficiency 1-bedroom, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom, as well as some larger combined units.
