Building: The Collect Pond House

Housed in a beautiful 1907 Beaux Arts building that was once the headquarters of the American Typewriter Company, Collect Pond House is a well-established Tribeca coop founded in 1979.

The building recently emerged from a multi-year renovation, led by a well-known architect and resident of the building, which has completely transformed the public spaces. Restored to its original glory, the lobby is extraordinary with double height marble walls, a large wrought iron staircase and elaborate original iron grills surrounding the elevator bank. Thoughtfully designed lighting showcases the lobby to great effect. Adjacent to the main lobby, the brand-new mail and package rooms provide ample storage and convenience to residents. Two completely new elevators were installed with a design in keeping with the history and style of the building. The coop retains ownership of the approximately 10,000 sf retail space currently leased to Gourmet Garage.
