Building: River Point Towers

River Point Towers, located on 555 Kappock Street in the Spuyten Duyvil, is a post-war high-and features 412 units across 25 stories. Built in 1966, the building offers a full-time doorman, as well as a courtyard, seasonal pool, laundry room, and private storage, among other amenities. The building does have parking and is conveniently located to public transportation. River Point Towers is a fast commute to Manhattan via the 1 train and also offers proximity to local MTA buses.

The co-op building is just a few minutes’ walk from the Hudson River. Also close by is Van Cortlandt Park, the largest public park in the Bronx which features two golf courses and a few small ponds. Spuyten Duyvil is a well equipped neighborhood offering several options good dining and shopping as well as many good schools.

The neighborhood takes its name from the Dutch and is a reference to the strong tidal currents in the Spuyten Duyvil creek a small creek within the Harlem river which bounds the neighborhood to the south. Although it has a deep history datin back to the 16th century, the neighborhood developed into the residential community it is today starting in the 1950s, when local railroad service became available, and many high-rises in the area were built in the same time frame, including River Point Towers.
