Building: Pomander Walk

Designated a New York City landmark in 1982, Pomander Walk is a charming micro-neighborhood on the Upper West Side. Built in 1921 and named after a play set in London, the complex consists of 27 three story buildings. Originally, each building in the complex housed three flats (one on each floor), but in recent years, many have been reconfigured to create single family townhomes. There are currently 61 units in this low-rise walk-up. The Tudor style complex recently underwent an extensive exterior renovation which restored many of the buildings’ period details and earned a “Building Rehabilitation Award.” The coop at Pomander Walk is pet friendly and offers a gated courtyard, storage, voice intercom, and proximity to transportation (1/2 block to the subway) and shopping. Financing is allowed up to 75% of the purchase price.
