Building: 6 Rivington Street

6 Rivington was purposely built as the only non-charitable lodging house exclusively for women in the city, where at the time rooms could be had for 15 to 30 cents a night. Today, it is a 6 unit, co-op loft building. There is one loft per floor and although the building is a walk up, there are shorter than average stair risers, making it an easier walk. Located at the epicenter of the art, restaurant, fashion and nightlife scene that defines the Bowery, Nolita and Lower East Side, Rivington St. still retains the flavor of Olde New York.
