Building: 555 Washington Avenue

Built in 1914, this awe-inspiring, Gothic style building with gargoyles started as a seminary, the Cathedral College of the Immaculate Conception. The most notable former student was Vince Lombardi (the famous football coach). In 1988 the building was converted to a 53 unit condominium. It features a central courtyard and though this structure is located on the busy corner of Atlantic and Washington avenues, its 2 feet thick walls, help isolate a lot of the vehicular noise outside.

The Cathedral Condominiums have an elevator, part-time doorman, laundry and live-in super. The building is situated on the cusp of Clinton Hill and Prospect Heights, where you can enjoy many restaurants, cafes, and shops. Hop on a bicycle and you are very close to Prospect Park, The Brooklyn Museum, Park Slope, Fort Greene Park and world class entertainment at Barclays Center, all less than a mile away. The C subway line is at the corner, which makes for a quick commute to Manhattan. Car-sharing services and parking are available in the building next door.
