Vincent Astor decided to build a sibling building for 530 East 86th Street after it was completely rented prior to completion. He once again hired Charles A. Platt and built a rental building in 1929 and converted into a cooperative in 1950. Some features were upgraded from 530 East 86th Street such as herringbone floors throughout the apartment. The original apartments had terrazzo marble floors in the bathrooms, loggia and elevator hallways. The room proportions are very gracious and there is a lot of flexibility with the floor plan to incorporate maid’s rooms into the kitchen. This 15 floor building has 46 apartments. 50% financing is allowed. This white glove building has individual storage cages, laundry, exercise and bike rooms and a play area with a basketball hoop shared with 530 East 86th Street. Live-in resident manager. Central air and washer/dryers with board approval. Pets permitted.
