Building: 350 West Broadway

350 West Broadway raises the bar by introducing seven limited edition homes into the world of Manhattan luxury real estate development. The full floor residences have been elegantly and intelligently designed by William T. Georgis with apartment plans that reconcile the open plans found in downtown lofts with the hierarchy of uptown pre-war apartments. A rich, but understated palette of materials has been employed in a clean, restrained design. The lobby is an evocative space with fumed oak floors, Vermont Cold Spring Granite and lacquered wall panels. The space is furnished with an eclectic mix of custom and antique furniture showcasing “Female Portrait Composition” by celebrated painter George Condo, “Seabed” a sculptural installation by ceramicist Peter Lane and bronze door pulls by artist and designer Michele Oka Doner. The exterior of the building has been designed by Moed de Armas & Shannon Architects with a glass and champagne aluminum unitized curtainwall system with highly articulated vertical mullions balanced with strong horizontal elements. The glass framed parapets and balconies are integrated with the curtainwall system with a tall open frame at the main roof. Light colored glazed brick with punched window openings blends with the scale and texture of adjacent Soho Buildings.
