Building: 34-10 94th Street

Brulene Cooperative Apartments, Inc. was constructed as a cooperative in 1954 under the authority of Section213 of the National Housing Act. It, thus, is known as a ‘213’ cooperative, and belongs to the Federation of Housing Cooperatives, Inc. .

The cooperative consists of two 6-story buildings, 34-11 93 Street and 34-10 94 Street, in Jackson Heights. Each building in the cooperative has 48 apartments, 8 per floor. Each floor has two 3-bedroom apartments, five 2-bedroom apartments, and one I-bedroom apartment. 34-10 94 Street also has a basement apartment for the superintendent.

In 1982 the entire property was re-piped with copper piping, new burners and a new boiler and in 2007-2008 anew roof was installed on the 94th Street building and both buildings were re-pointed.

The current property staff includes a superintendent (in residence) and two porters. The cooperative also employs various outside professionals including a managing agent, attorney and accountant. It is governed by a Board of Directors made up of 7 stockholders.

Transportation is convenient, within walking distance, with an express stop of the #7 train at Junction Boulevard and Roosevelt Avenue. Various bus lines, within walking distance, can take you to the E and F trains at 74th. Street and Roosevelt Avenue, the Rand G trains at Northern Boulevard and 51st• Street in Woodside and to major shopping areas in Elmhurst (Queens Center Mall) and Flushing. Local shopping areas are located along Junction Boulevard, 37th Avenue and Northern Boulevard. LaGuardia Airport can be reached by bus and is about five minutes away by car. A supermarket is one block away on Junction Boulevard.

Amenities include a laundry room in each building that contains 8 washing machines and 4 dryers; an intercom buzzer system in each apartment, video surveillance of the entrance area which can be seen on your TV; an exercise room in the 93n1 Street building (small entrance and monthly fees required) and bicycle and storage rooms in each building’s basement. NORC is located in the basement of the 9411’ Street building. There is an underground garage with 47 spaces (with a waiting list) and a steel security fence that encloses most of the property, including all inner areas.
