Building: 28 North Moore Street

28-30 North Moore Street was built in 1892 originally as an egg and butter warehouse named LILY FARMS and was converted into residential units in 2016. The building has 2 separate entrances and thus a hyphonated address. After the renovation, the commercial ground floor was given the #28 address with a sole entrance to the East facade of the building. The residential entrance on the West facade of the building uses the #30 address. The building is landmarked on it’s street facade and has maintained the steel platform and Marquis awning from it’s original design. It is unclear when the fire escapes were added. The colors were also as close to original as can possibly be determined. The side walk is of original granite slabs with an incline to the street to allow delivery wagons and, later, trucks to back up to the platform.

Presently, the residential portion of the building has 6 full floor apartments. There is a part time super, individual storage cages, a bike room, an excersize room and a roof deck. It is one of very few rental buildings in the area.
