Building: 20 Greene Street

20 Greene Street is an authentic 7-story elevator loft building located in the heart of SoHo. In 1880, the building was originally designed by architect Samuel Warner and constructed as a warehouse made of masonry bearing walls with wood joists and wood flooring and included cast iron structural columns as well as a highly-ornamental cast iron façade. The building is a part of the SoHo Cast Iron District which was designated by the Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1973. Brick, wood and cast iron make up the primary building materials for this edifice. Preserving its 19th century architectural integrity, 20 Greene was restored and converted to condominium in 2000, consisting of 10 grandiose private residences and 2 commercial spaces. The latter served as the long-time operational base of Location One, a world-renowned art gallery and widely-recognized creative institution in the Downtown Manhattan community.

20 Greene Street is immersed in history and artistic legacy, while simultaneously providing unrestricted access to the ever-evolving and contemporary world of fashion, gastronomy and modern art.
