The Townsend House at 176 East 71st Street is a 20-story building, built as a cooperative in 1962. With 24-hour doorman service and concierge, it is located on a charming tree-lined townhouse block West of Third Avenue. Originally consisting of 96 units, several apartments have been combined to create larger spaces. Most of the apartments have two or three bedrooms, and there are also several studios and a few one-bedrooms.
