170 East 79th Street is an elegant pre-war building designed by renowned
architect, James E. R. Carpenter, that was built in 1926 and converted to
co-operative in 1962. The sixteen-story brown-brick building consists of 23
apartments, primarily seven room simplexes and duplexes. The apartments
offer large living rooms, wood-burning fireplaces, impressive entryways and
private or semi-private elevator landings.
