137 West 13th Street in prime West Village, is an exceptionally refined five story townhouse that has been completely modernized. Completing a two year gut renovation in 2022 by RoundSquare Development in collaboration with Helena Clunies-Ross Design, this home was carefully crafted and executed to provide every luxury imaginable. Interior design firm BOS Studio (Bryan O’Sullivan) layered on refined amenity-rich details within this home’s six levels.

Encompassing nearly 7,400 square feet, this 20’ wide townhouse offers five bedrooms (all with en-suite bathrooms), three powder rooms, five separate outdoor spaces and a full floor primary suite. The newly engineered staircase wraps around the elevator, which was designed to maximize the footprint and act as the architectural centerpiece of the home.

While maintaining the historic facade, original stoop and cast-iron railings, the restoration integrated a clean modern aesthetic throughout. Excavating 20’ below street level to create 9’ ceilings on the cellar level, 10’ 11” ceilings on the garden level and 11’ ceilings on the parlor floor adds to the overall functionality and aesthetic of the home. The garden facing facade for the garden and parlor floors features stunning, high performance floor-to-ceiling black steel and glass windows and doors by Optimum, which are strikingly clad in slate. This same aesthetic was carried throughout the home with floor-to-ceiling black steel framed glass doors defining marque rooms.

Centrally situated on a beautiful tree-lined block, 137 West 13th is one of a few remaining houses on West 13th built by Stephen B. Peet in 1845 during the Greek Revival period. Its West Village location offers ease of access to multiple transportation lines, fine dining, shops and all desired conveniences.
